Survivors Teaching Students

Survivors Teaching Students is an innovative and critical national effort to educate students in health professional programs on ovarian cancer. Our goal is to increase the number of health care providers who recognize the symptoms and risk factors for ovarian cancer so that the disease is detected earlier.

The majority of ovarian cancer cases are not diagnosed until the disease is advanced and women's survival is compromised. The symptoms may not be recognized early enough and too often women who are at high-risk are not identified or monitored.

Survivors Teaching Students: Saving Women' Lives brings the faces and voices of ovarian cancer survivors into the classrooms of health professional students to teach them about women's experiences with the disease.

We are in a unique position to help students to become more sensitive to the symptoms of and risk factors for ovarian cancer so that when they become diagnosticians they can diagnose women early and save lives. Call 404-255-1337 to schedule a facilitator for your hospital or health care provider.
